Work > Traces

Inspired by the pattern of a common paper towel transferred in a residue of cooking oil, the resulting works in the Traces of Absorption series magnify mass-produced motifs that have visible relationships to quilt and Native American patterns. These works honor the tools, labors, and rituals of domestic location from an assemblage-intersects-with-minimalism sensibility.

The series consists of an editioned suite of white-on-white relief and emboss prints, white chocolate sculptures cast from the zinc etching plates, and a video work that is a magnification of the etching plate craters revealed over time.
