Boundless
Three things are elemental and intertwined within my creative process: using the camera to record and frame my particular view of things, an intense and focused observation sustained over time, and collecting random and banal objects - the camera is frequently a tool for both observation and collection activities.
This series began as a way to solve a problem and as I tend to make a mountain out of every molehill, the problem became more complex through process. I think of these images as both portraits without a person and as landscape photographs without horizon, or land. The objects become a ground for the subject, the vast and blue sky.
